Lowering the Gaze (Ghad al-Basar)

Your eyes are a gateway to the heart, carrying the weight of everything they choose to rest upon.

By practicing the gentle act of lowering your gaze, you preserve the inner sanctity of your soul from unnecessary distraction.

This simple, quiet discipline creates a sanctuary of peace where your focus remains centered on what truly elevates your spirit.

In this restraint, you discover a profound sense of clarity and a heart that stays closer to the light of the Divine.

“O young people, whoever among you can afford marriage, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and protecting one's chastity.”
